Douglas Luiz could exit Aston Villa ‘on the cheap’ after journalist’s ‘agent’ claim – Campbell
Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz could seal a “cheap” move to Arsenal in January but only if he is willing to be a squad player at the Emirates.
That is the view of former Gunners and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 24-year-old’s long-term future.
Mikel Arteta’s side failed to land Luiz in the summer transfer window after multiple bids.

On 10 September, sources told this site that Arsenal are still working on a deal to sign the Brazil international.
Speaking to Give Me Sport (8 October), journalist Ashley Preece claimed the player’s “agent will be looking around” for potential suitors prior to the January window.
Luiz is out of contract at Villa Park next June.
When asked by Football Insider if Luiz would still be a welcome addition to table-toppers Arsenal, Campbell said: “You need to look at players who would be happy to be a squad player.
“When you look at players higher than Luiz they want to start every week.
“It is about building a balanced squad. Thomas Partey has been outstanding in the past couple of games.
“Douglas Luiz is a player I like. We need a player like him because he would know that he is not first choice.

“There will be times where he will start though. He would play his role as a squad player. You need players like that in your team. That is really important.
“Imagine getting Douglas Costa on the cheap… It is all about the squad.”
