‘Dream come true’ – Enforcer delighted after agreeing Rangers terms
Rangers enforcer Ross McCrorie has revealed it’s a dream come true to sign a new four-and-a-half year contract at Ibrox to keep him with the Gers until 2020.
The Rangers Academy graduate has been a revelation since making his first-team bow in September and has gone on to make himself a mainstay in the starting XI with 17 appearances so far this term.
The 19-year-old – and his twin brother Robby – have both agreed terms to put pen to paper on new deals as they look to line-up together in the Rangers starting XI and become the first twins to do so since Frank and Ronald de Boer.
McCrorie admitted that he’s supported the Gers since childhood and called his recent run of games a “dream come true.”
“It’s the club I’ve supported ever since I was a little boy and I don’t want to be playing anywhere other than Rangers,” McCrorie said, as quoted by the club’s official website.
“The last few months have been great and a dream come true. I’m thankful for getting the chance and ever since I’ve been getting games, so it’s been brilliant.”
The Scotland youth international has been pushed forward into central-midfield in recent weeks but is expected to return to his preferred berth in central defence before too long.
McCrorie had loan spells with Ayr United and Dumbarton last season before stepping up and impressing for the Gers after a string of injuries to senior players.
The 19-year-old has already scored his first senior goal for the Ibrox giants after finding the net in the win over Partick Thistle at Ibrox earlier this season.
