Eberechi Eze and Marcus Rashford axed – Three England changes Thomas Tuchel must make against Serbia

Thomas Tuchel will need to rejuvenate his England side after their drab draw against Andorra on Saturday at Villa Park.

Elliot Anderson was the player of the match in a drab match that failed to inspire, with Andorra sat in a low block.

Tuchels’ men huffed and puffed but required a moment of England brilliance from Noni Madueke to break the deadlock as his cross found the head of Andorra’s Christian Garcia to give the home side the lead.

Reece James capped off a fine England performance by assisting Declan Rice as the Three Lions secured all three points midway through the second half.

Tuchel will now have food for thought as his side head to Belgrade to take on Serbia on Tuesday evening.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek starts

Elliot Anderson was a fine performer on Saturday and the Nottingham Forest man should expect to keep his place.

Eberechi Eze however did underwhelm with the Arsenal man failing to impact the game higher up the pitch.

With Serbia expected to be more dominant in midfield, Loftus-Cheek’s strong ball carrying and more defensive mindedness will prove beneficial to Tuchel.

Djed Spence replaces woeful Myles Lewis-Skelley

Myles Lewis-Skelley had a game to forget at left-back, underperforming in an otherwise average England team against Andorra.

Djed Spence should expect his first England call-up to replace the Arsenal man, with Spence offering more threat going forward than Lewis-Skelley.

England will want more penetration in their attacking play down the left and Spence can be that spark that Tuchel needs to balance his build-up play.

Anthony Gordon for Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford, like Lewis-Skelley was ineffective on the left flank for England, failing to create any chances against Andorra’s stubborn defence.

Rashford couldn’t replicate Madueke’s exploits on the right flank and made England’s build up play one dimensional.

Anthony Gordon can provide Tuchel with more techincal play between the lines against Serbia as well as offering a greater threat in behind the Serbian back line.
