Eddie Gray believes that Leeds face a huge fixture when they host Brighton on Saturday.
The Whites welcome Brighton to Elland Road in the Championship and will be looking to consolidate their position in the play-off places.
Garry Monk’s side are currently fourth-placed in the league table and have a five-point cushion over seventh-placed Fulham.
The Yorkshire giants have drawn their last two games against QPR and Fulham, but will be keen to return to winnings ways.
Meanwhile, Brighton are second-placed in the league table and are in pole position to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Ex-Leeds player Gray has highlighted upcoming matches against the top two Brighton and Newcastle that are left this season, but feels his former side need to just focus on obtaining points.
“Big game. We’ve got the two big teams to play in the league in Brighton and Newcastle,” Gray told LUFC TV. “It’s an important game for us at home, keep racking the points up at this stage of the season and that’s all you can do.”
Leeds suffered a 2-0 loss in the previous meeting with Brighton this season, with Glenn Murray and Tomer Hemed on the scoresheet.
However, they have been particularly impressive at Elland Road this season and their home supporters are willing them to get in the play-offs.
Monk’s side have exceeded all pre-season expectations and have been one of the most consistent performers in the Championship this season.
They have been heavily reliant on star striker Chris Wood, who has scored 25 goals across all competitions.
Leeds will be pitting themselves against an impressive Brighton outfit, who have been extremely strong under Chris Hughton.
In other Leeds news, Liam Bridcutt has made a bold promotion claim ahead of Brighton.
