'Signings will be high profile' – Eddie Gray delivers exciting verdict on Leeds summer transfers
Leeds legend Eddie Gray believes that new manager Marcelo Bielsa will get backing in the transfer market now that he’s got the job at Elland Road.
Bielsa is a massively high-profile appointment and Gray has said “you don’t bring a manager of that profile in without giving him the necessary funds.”
Talking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Gray said: “I think he will be quite quick in his assessment of the players and I think he will have a look at them.
“But I think he will have the knowledge and the experience to know what he thinks he needs and I am sure he will get the opportunity to do that
“I think he will tell the club what he thinks he needs and I think the club will back him.
“There will be a lot of players who will know his reputation and a lot of people will probably want to play for him. The signings will be high profile I think.”

Football Insider verdict:
It was a long wait for Leeds fans but they won’t mind now that Andrea Radrizzani has pulled off the improbable and brought legendary manager Bielsa to Elland Road. Now he needs to run the rule over the squad, trimming the excess fat and bringing in players who can play to his style of football. Leeds have already been linked with a number of exciting players this summer, including Hull City striker Abel Hernandez, Derby County forward Matej Vydra, Swansea centre-back Kyle Bartley and Liverpool winger Harry Wilson. Bielsa also has two fans in the Premier League, Man City’s Per Guardiola and Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino and Leeds fans will be hoping Bielsa can use these contacts to swing a few loan deals – Leeds were reported to be after City’s keeper Angus Gunn. Having Bielsa in charge should mean that Leeds have a much better chance of attracting high profile players, who will be keen to play under the man who forged the way for so many successful foreign managers in today’s game. It should be an exciting summer.
