Eddie Howe sack news: Richard Keys insists Newcastle manager is ‘gone’
Eddie Howe has been under heavy pressure at Newcastle United this season after their recent dip in form.
The Magpies ended their losing streak on Saturday after they beat Brighton and Hove Albion 3-1, but it was far from a comfortable game.
With Newcastle set to end the campaign without a trophy, and are unlikely to qualify for Europe, big questions are starting to be asked of Howe.
One man who has insisted that he is already a dead man walking is Richard Keys, who has consulted some “high-end” sources on Howe’s future.
As a result, Howe may soon be sacked, despite their recent victory over Brighton.

While the victory over Brighton will be a relief, it was far from pretty.
Despite a good first-half performance, which saw the hosts go 2-0 up, Howe’s side almost threw this away thanks to some lacklustre defending and an inability to kill the game off until late on.

In fact, the Seagulls should have arguably scored multiple times before Harvey Barnes netted in the dying seconds to finish the match off.
Nevertheless, Keys clearly feels that the result was inconsequential to Howe’s future.
Speaking before the game to beIN Sports on 2 May, looking at the potential managerial departures this summer, Keys insisted that Howe will not be in charge of the Magpies next season.

Can Howe survive the ongoing pressure at Newcastle?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Howe has a 50-50 chance of leaving Newcastle at the end of the season.
There is a growing feeling among the hierarchy at the north-east giants that the 48-year-old has taken the team as far as they can go.
Their recent form in the league will have likely caused further damage for Howe, with defeats to Bournemouth and Crystal Palace ensuring European qualification is unlikely.
Sources say that Howe’s future is now dependent on how the players respond to him in the final fixtures of the season.
However, it remains to be seen if a good final three matches will be enough to keep Howe in the dugout next season, with the manager clearly losing the support of much of the fanbase.
