‘Eddie Howe to make Sandro Tonali undroppable at Newcastle’: Fans stunned
Newcastle fans have taken to social media in joy over Sandro Tonali’s performance against Brentford to insist he will now “start every game”.
The Magpies faced the West London club in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup, where they advanced to the last four with a 3-1 victory.
The Italian midfielder bagged a brace, with Fabian Schar the other scorer for the Tyneside club.
He has been in and out of Eddie Howe’s team this season with 892 minutes played. The 24-year-old missed the majority of last season after he was suspended for multiple breaches of the FA’s betting rules.
Tonali’s two strikes against Thomas Frank’s men were his first of the season and just his second and third for the club.
