Eddie Nketiah agrees Nottingham Forest terms – sources
Eddie Nketiah has agreed personal terms with Nottingham Forest ahead of a move from Arsenal, sources have told Football Insider.
Talks between Forest and Arsenal have reached an advanced stage over a permanent deal worth £30million for the 25-year-old.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed that Forest had presented the striker with a detailed proposal to persuade him to join their project.
Nuno Espirito Santo has now convinced him to make the move to the City Ground after promising him he will be their first-choice striker this season.
The deal is expected to reach a conclusion in the coming days with discussions between the clubs ongoing after receiving the green light from Nketiah.
Forest have been targeting a forward all summer amid questions over the availability of Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood’s ability to lead the line for a full season.
Nottingham Forest beat rivals to Eddie Nketiah deal as personal terms agreed
Nketiah has been at Arsenal since joining from Chelsea’s academy in 2015, and made his debut for the Gunners just two years later.
Since then, he has made 168 appearances for the club, scoring 38 goals despite receiving limited minutes in the majority of those games.
The striker averages a goal every 184 minutes in an Arsenal shirt.
He has also represented England at all levels from Under-18s to the senior squad, and is the all-time record goalscorer for the Under-21s.
However, his career at the Emirates has stagnated and there is an acceptance from all parties that his future rests outside of North London.
There had been interest from the likes of Wolves and Crystal Palace this summer, but Forest have moved quickly to beat their rivals to his signature.

Nuno’s side are keen to tie down a deal as they want to build a homegrown core to their attack with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Morgan Gibbs-White spearheaded by Nketiah.
A move to Forest to become the first-choice striker in the Premier League represents the sort of challenge he is looking for at this stage of his career.
