Edgar Davids gives Twitter verdict on cringey Tottenham goal celebration
By Harvey Byrne
Edgar Davids has revealed he loved the goal celebration between Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli on Sunday afternoon.
The club and country teammates had clearly choreographed a handshake together which they then debuted after Kane opened the scoring with a sensational long-range effort in the 3-2 win over Everton at White Hart Lane.
The handshake caught the attention of pundits and fans alike and football watchers around the world panned the celebration on Twitter as cringey.
However, former Spurs man Davids went against this view, sharing on his personal Twitter account that he was a fan of the “difficult handshake” on Monday evening.
Loved the @SpursOfficial celebration!!! They practiced that very very difficult handshake it.

He played for some massive teams, including both Milan sides, Barcelona and Juventus before two years with Tottenham between 2005 and 2007.
The now 43-year-old played for Ajax, Crystal Palace and Barnet after Spurs, but he clearly still takes notice of the goings on at the north London club.
Tottenham’s victory on Sunday has helped them maintain second place, while they still sit 10 points away from league leaders Chelsea.
Their next league clash will see them face Southampton on 19 March and spectators will be eagerly awaiting to see if the celebration rears it’s head once more.
