El Khannouss reacts to Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi post amid exit rumours

Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss has reacted to team mate Wilfred Ndidi as both players could leave the King Power this summer.

The Foxes suffered a humiliating Premier League relegation last season, with manager Ruud van Nistelrooy sacked for the club’s poor performances at the end of the campaign.

Former QPR manager Marti Cifuentes has taken over at Leicester, who are preparing to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, although a points deduction may hinder their promotion ambitions.

Cifuentes has plenty to deal with following his move to the King Power and the futures of Ndidi and El Khannouss are at the top of his to do list.

Uncertainty surrounds Leicester stars

Ndidi has a relegation release clause inserted into his contract, whilst El Khannouss is attracting attention from Leicester’s East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest.

Everton and Manchester United are two sides interested in triggering that clause, and Ndidi has taken to Instagram to share his latest whereabouts.

Ndidi shared a picture of himself in London with the caption: “From gallery with love,” which was liked by El Khannouss.

Leicester face wait on key duo amid PSR worries

Football Insider Verdict

Both Ndidi and El Khannouss look set to stay in the Premier League, but their final destination is currently unknown.

Amid their PSR concerns, Leicester will want to sell their high earners to balance the books upon their return to the Championship.

Nottingham Forest’s interest in El Khannouss may hinder on the outcome of Morgan Gibbs-White and whether the midfielder will be allowed to move to Tottenham.

That saga could run on until the end of the window, but other Premier League club’s will be looking at the Moroccan international who was one of few bright performers for the Foxes in a forgettable season for the club.

Also, with the departure of winger Anthony Elanga, Forest will be keen to add a player with similar pace and dribbling ability to their ranks.

Ndidi has plenty of Premier League experience and the 28-year-old would be a solid addition to either Everton or Man United’s midfield.

The Nigerian’s release clause is only £9million making him a safe acquisition for any club.
