Elliot Anderson sends ‘see you soon’ Nottingham Forest message after England snub
Elliot Anderson has sent a message to Nottingham Forest supporters via social media following an impressive 4-2 win over Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Kieran McKenna‘s side looked to be holding strong at Portman Road on 15 March, with the Tractor Boys creating chances in the early exchanges, but all of that changed after Nikola Milenkovic’s opener.
The defender’s goal was quickly followed up by a four-minute brace from Anthony Elanga, with Anderson assisting one of the goals, with Jens-Lys Cajuste, Jota Silva and George Hirst exchanging goals in the second half.
Joined by Morgan Gibbs-White, the pair were snubbed by Thomas Tuchel in the latest England squad, and both seem to have made their points about being left out after the Premier League victory.
The majority of supporters expected both to be called up for games against Albania and Latvia, but neither will be on the plane later this month.

Taking to Instagram [15 March], Anderson wrote: “Big win to take us into the break! See you soon,” with a tree and ‘A’ emojis, in reference to his assist on the day.
Teammates Ola Aina, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Chris Wood and Elanga all liked his post, clearly understanding how key the midfielder was to the sublime win at Portman Road.
Elanga even wrote: “Geordie Maradona,” in the comments after a fine display in the middle of the park.
Nuno Espirito Santo leading a European charge at The City Ground
Football Insider verdict
Forest have taken one giant leap towards qualifying for Champions League football for next season, now holding a five-point lead over fourth-place Chelsea before the Blues face Arsenal.
Hudson-Odoi helped the Reds to an incredible 1-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s Man City last time out, and now a top-four finish seems within touching distance with nine games remaining.
Premier League standings | Points |
3. Nottingham Forest | 54 |
4. Chelsea | 49 |
5. Man City | 48 |
6. Newcastle | 47 |
7. Brighton | 47 |
The final run-in is a rather scary prospect, though, with upcoming clashes against Aston Villa, Everton, Tottenham and Chelsea, just to name a few, which is why attention will turn to the FA Cup.
Having set up a quarter-final clash with Brighton, silverware is a real possibility for the Reds this season so there will be a fine balance between trying to win the competition while finishing high in the Premier League.
Whatever happens, it has been an incredible campaign from Forest and Espirito Santo has proven all of his doubters wrong as his team look to secure European football rather than avoid relegation.
