Emiliano Martinez and Dom Solanke react to emotional message from Cristian Romero
Cristian Romero posted a heartfelt message whilst on international duty amid continued speculation over his Tottenham future.
Spurs enjoyed a season to remember, ending their 17-year wait for silverware with a dramatic Europa League final win over Manchester United.
Romero had a fantastic performance for Tottenham in the final and despite an injury-hit campaign that kept him out for spells, the defender delivered when it mattered most.
Yet, even with Champions League qualification secured and a trophy finally in the cabinet, interest from Atletico Madrid remains strong in Romero. The Spanish side are continuing their pursuit, and Tottenham’s recent success hasn’t put them off.
For now, though, Romero’s focus is firmly on international duty. The Argentine centre-back shared a passionate message with supporters as he joined up with the national team.

Cristian Romero praises Argentina fans after World Cup qualifiers
With club football on pause, international duty has taken centre stage as Argentina continue their World Cup qualifying campaign.
Lionel Scaloni’s side played out a 1-1 draw against Colombia, with Thiago Almada netting a second-half equaliser after Luis Diaz’s opener.
Romero posted an emotional message after the match, writing: “Thank you for all the love always. How beautiful to be Argentinian.”
His post drew plenty of responses, with Argentina teammate Emiliano Martinez commenting: “Mi Central” alongside a heart emoji. Tottenham players Dominic Solanke, Pedro Porro and Kevin Danso also showed support.
Although Romero is currently focused on international duty, questions continue to surround his future at club level.
Football Insider revealed that Romero is expected to leave Tottenham this summer after an injury-plagued campaign. He missed 27 matches in total due to three separate injuries, disrupting his rhythm throughout the season.

Tottenham open to Heung-Min Son sale amid major interest
Another big name who could be on the move is Spurs captain Heung-Min Son.
Football Insider reported that Tottenham would be open to selling Son if a substantial offer arrives during the transfer window.
He has spent a decade in North London, finally lifted his first trophy with the club this season and the 31-year-old has made 454 appearances and scored 173 goals in a remarkable spell at the club.
Saudi Arabian clubs have reportedly shown strong interest in Son but it remains unclear whether he will make the switch to the Middle East or wait for potential offers from elsewhere in Europe.
