Report: Tottenham get huge boost in January pursuit of speed machine after key contact made
Fulham sensation Ryan Sessegnon has been put on high alert for a January transfer to the Premier League, amid interest from multiple clubs, according to a report.
The Sun claims that Tottenham and Manchester United are set to battle it out for the signature of the 17-year-old talent, as Fulham search for a possible replacement.
It is thought that Spurs’ see the millennial as a replacement to left-back Danny Rose and are listed as “long-term admirers”.
And Fulham appear to be resigned to losing their star with the report stating Fulham have made key contact in pursuit of a replacement.
The Sun says Fulham has “sounded out intermediaries over which full-backs are available in the clearest indication that Sessegnon, 17, could leave when the window opens in three weeks.”
Sessegnon, who helped the England Under 19s to win the European Championship over the summer, has been a mainstay in the Fulham first team, already amassing over 50 appearances.

The young lion was also the tournament’s joint-top goal scorer, after bagging a brace against rivals Germany.
Football Insider Verdict:
The young talent would be most welcome by esteemed Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino, who has been praised for his ability to nurture young players. Spurs’ first team is peppered with players who have started their careers at Tottenham from a young age, and look all the better for it. Sessegnon is unlikely to see much first team action immediately, with Danny Rose and Ben Davies holding the position down, althought the 17-year-old has the ability to play further up the pitch also. Any deal could also potentially include a loan deal elsewhere. Flash backs of Dele Ali, who was bought and loaned straight back to MK Dons. This deal is always going to be long-term thinking, however, Sessegnon certainly has the potential to be a Premier League star.
