Enzo Fernandez sends one-word message to Chelsea fans pre-showdown

Enzo Fernandez shared an update from the training ground as Chelsea prepare for their next Club World Cup clash.

The Blues are gearing up to take on Brazilian giants Fluminense in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup on 8 July.

Enzo Maresca come under pressure from Chelsea fans following an inconsistent season last year, but he is on course to guide the club to yet another major final.

After lifting the UEFA Conference League and securing Champions League qualification, the Club World Cup presents another opportunity for silverware.

Fluminense, captained by former Chelsea defender Thiago Silva, will be familiar to new Blues signing Joao Pedro, who previously played for the Brazilian side.

Meanwhile, Fernandez has been a key figure for Maresca throughout the season and the tournament, contributing one goal and two assists in five appearances so far.

The Argentine midfielder has now provided a message to supporters as the squad complete their final preparations for the semi-final showdown.

Fernandez has been one of Chelsea’s standout performers this season, forming a strong midfield partnership with Moises Caicedo under Maresca.

His consistent displays have played a key role in the Blues’ progress and have made them favourites to reach the Club World Cup final.

Victory in the revamped tournament could prove lucrative, with Chelsea in line to pocket around £80million if they lift the trophy.

Should they overcome Fluminense, Chelsea would set up a final against either Real Madrid or current Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain.

While Chelsea continue to strengthen for their Club World Cup campaign, the club are also expected to sanction player exits in the coming weeks.

Football Insider revealed that Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for young defender Josh Acheampong during the summer transfer window.

The highly-rated centre-back signed a new long-term deal only seven months ago, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2029. However, both Tottenham and Newcastle have expressed interest in Acheampong to secure his services.

He made 12 senior appearances last season but is not yet considered a regular first-team option, paving the way for a potential move.
