Enzo Maresca might already have new Premier League management job lined up after Chelsea exit
Enzo Maresca and Chelsea have officially parted ways in a stunning development at Stamford Bridge.
The relationship between Maresca and the Chelsea board has deteriorated massively, with decision-makers now believing his position to be untenable.
Just one month ago, the Blues were coming off the back of three consecutive wins and a strong draw with Premier League leaders Arsenal, with some fans retaining hope of a title challenge.
But the last month has seen long-held tensions between Maresca and the Chelsea board spectacularly explode, with an official statement on Thursday confirming his departure.
Xavi is expected to be the favourite to take over at Chelsea, with the Spaniard available after leaving Barcelona in 2024.
West Ham can eye unique Enzo Maresca opportunity
Many of the Premier League’s clubs will be paying very close attention to the intentions of Maresca after his departure from Chelsea.
After 18 months with the Blues, the Italian may well want a break from management, for the time being.
Manchester City have reportedly identified Maresca as a potential replacement for Pep Guardiola, should he leave in the summer.

But the 45-year-old may well be keen for an instant return to the Premier League, and a chance to rub the Chelsea board’s decision back in their own faces.
And what better test is there for a manager than a relegation battle? West Ham would be able to provide funds in January, and it is a move that would allow Maresca to keep his family in London.
The Hammers are in need of a semi-miracle this season, and David Sullivan was already paying consideration to the idea of sacking Nuno Espirito Santo.

The West Ham chairman made a quick decision to sack Graham Potter when the former Nottingham Forest boss became available, and it would be no surprise to see him spring back into action.
Maresca could keep West Ham in the Premier League
Both of Maresca’s management roles, so far, have been to power a good team towards the top of the league.
With Chelsea and Leicester City, the Italian installed progressive, attacking football to dominate opponents and win games.
While the task at West Ham is vastly different, Maresca can utilise the same type of tactics and has players certainly capable of exercising them.
The likes of Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, Mateus Fernandes, and Freddie Potts could well thrive under the former Chelsea boss.
And while Maresca’s long-term ambitions would likely look past West Ham, a transformative job at the London Stadium would only serve to further enhance his reputation.
