Eric Dier: Harry Kane pulls the strings as Bayern Munich strike Tottenham agreement – sources

Bayern Munich are readying a formal offer to Tottenham for Eric Dier after agreeing personal terms with him, sources have told Football Insider.

The German giants have had their proposal accepted by the 29-year-old, as exclusively revealed by Football Insider early on Friday (5th January).

Now Bayern are set to submit a bid of around £4.3million as they look to complete the signing of Dier this month.

Manager Thomas Tuchel has already spoken to the England international and detailed how he will fit into the team, with his versatility offering an option both at centre-back and in defensive midfield.

Harry Kane has also pushed strongly for Dier to join him in Germany, with the two very good friends from their lengthy time together at Tottenham.

The Spurs legend has spoken extensively to his fellow Englishman about life in Bavaria and has highly recommended him to Tuchel and Bayern chiefs.

Speaking following the 1-0 win over Burnley in the FA Cup, manager Ange Postecoglou insisted he knows “absolutely zero” about a potential January deal for Dier.

However, the Australian admitted his side can still afford to part with the defender this month even with Ben Davies joining Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero on the injury list.

Spurs are closing in on a new defender signing of their own in the mid-season window.

Football Insider revealed on Thursday (4 January) that the club are confident they will sign Genoa star Radu Dragusin this month following new talks – despite his agent pouring cold water on a deal.

Despite racking up 364 total appearances for the club, Dier has been used as a last resort only by Tottenham this term and has managed just 198 minutes of action.

His contract is set to expire at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
