Erik Sviatchenko reacts on Twitter after Celtic triumph v Hamilton

By Will Butcher

Erik Sviatchenko has described Celtic’s emphatic 3-0 Scottish Premiership win over Hamilton as “perfect”.

The 25-year-old defender played a pivotal part in nullifying the Hamilton attack, keeping his eighth clean sheet in just 14 domestic outings.

Posting on his personal Twitter account, the Denmark international was delighted to see his side earn another clean sheet and their 17th league win of the season.

Celtic took the lead through striker Leigh Griffiths just before the half-time break, as he was played in with a superb pass from Callum McGregor.

However, McGregor received his marching orders just two minutes into the second half, but that did not deter the 47-time Scottish champions from continuing their rout.

In-form midfielder Stuart Armstrong provided the second with a thunderous strike that was destined for the top corner from the moment it left the number 14’s boot.

French wonderkid Moussa Dembele then ended a poor run of just one goal in 10 league and cup encounters by rounding off the victory in the final 10 minutes with a simple finish, after good work by James Forrest.

The win sees Celtic remain 14 points clear over Old Firm rivals Rangers at the summit of the Scottish Premiership, with a game in hand.

Sviatchenko is expected to feature in the Bhoys’ next clash against Ross County on December 28, as Brendan Rodgers’ side play host.

Since his move to Parkhead in the winter of 2016, the former FC Midtjylland defender has made 43 league and cup appearances and scored one solitary goal against Rangers last season.
