Erling Haaland reacts after stunning Man City announcement
Erling Haaland has taken to social media to react after it was confirmed he has signed a bumper new contract with Man City.
Things have not gone well for Pep Guardiola’s side this season, with their latest Premier League title defence faltering badly, as they sit 12 points behind leaders Liverpool having played a game more.
There are also a number of players facing uncertain futures at the club, which could lead to a vast turnover in the squad in the coming months.
Meanwhile, the threat of punishment for a breach 115 financial charges continues to loom large over Man City.
Despite all that it has been confirmed that Haaland has put pen to paper on a new nine-and-a-half-year contract that is set to keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the end of the 2033/34 season.

Following the news that he has signed that new deal with the club, Haaland took to his Instagram story to give his reaction.
After posting the videos officially announcing the extension of his Man City contract, the striker then also shared a post from the club that described him as “one of us”.
Haaland then added sky blue love heart emoji to that post, highlighting his affection for the club he is set to be with for almost another decade.

This new deal is a huge boost for Guardiola’s side after what has been an extremely tough period for the club by their standards.
Even while things have not worked as well for him this season, Haaland is still one of the most efficient strikers in front of goal in the Premier League, with only Mo Salah having scored more in the league.
Keeping him for so long with this new deal is therefore a major boost and show of intent from Man City given everyone knows just how much of a threat he can be.
Indeed, many may also wonder just what implications this might have over the pending outcome of their legal battle with the Premier League over those 115 charges as well.
