The full-back was not involved in the Magpies’ recent pre-season defeat to Celtic, as he continues individual training following an extended break after helping England win the Under-21 European Championship.
He captioned his post simply with: “Ready” alongside a determined image, prompting reactions from several Premier League players.
His post saw multiple reactions from across the Premier League including Arsenal duo Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and teammate Joe Willock.
The 22-year-old has become a pivotal figure in Eddie Howe’s squad since his £32 million move from Southampton in 2023, already racking up 80 appearances in all competitions for Newcastle.
