By Amir Mir
Eunan O’Kane has hailed Kalvin Phillips for his cameo performance during the 3-1 win at Birmingham City on Friday night.
The 26-year-old was also complimentary towards the club’s defensive display in what was a hard-fought win for the away team.
Midfielder O’Kane started the match ahead of Phillips and the absent Ronaldo Vieira with skipper Liam Bridcutt his midfield partner.
He left the field just before the hour mark with his side leading the game 1-0 with the 21-year-old replacing the Northern Irishman.
When the Blues leveled the scores through Craig Gardner four minutes later, Phillips changed the game by assisting Wood for his second of the match before Alfonso Pedraza made sure of the points.

O’Kane has played 22 games in all competitions for his side, supplying two assists during his 20 Championship appearances.
Garry Monk has opted to start the experienced player on 18 occasions this term but the former Bournemouth man was injured for a brief part of December.
By contrast, Phillips has played 31 games in all competitions for his boyhood club, scoring one goal and supplying the same number of assists.
Compared to his midfield counterpart, Phillips has started 21 matches this term, but that is largely down to the fact that he has remained injury free for the majority of the campaign.
