Italian side Juventus are set to make a move for Liverpool midfielder Emre Can after months of considering him, according to a report.
Italian outlet Tuttosport claim that the 23-year-old could make the move to the Serie A club in the next few days as they prepare to launch a bid.
It is understood that the European heavyweights will bid between £27-31million for his signature and that they view him as the next Sami Khedira.
The report details that Liverpool are trying to agree a new deal with the Germany international, but that his future looks set to be with Juventus.
Can has just one year remaining on his contract at Anfield and has been closely monitored by Champions League runners-up Juventus.
The defensive midfielder moved to the Merseyside club and has become an important member of the starting line-up under Jurgen Klopp.
He made 40 appearances across all competitions last season and usually operates in front of the back four.
Can excelled defensively and has proved that with Germany too, but also managed to chip in with five goals during the last campaign.
The midfielder scored a superb bicycle kick against Watford in the Premier League which was one of the goals of the season.
Football Insider verdict:
Can has divided opinions during his time with Liverpool so far, but the Reds should definitely look to tie him down to a new deal. The 23-year-old is a consistent performer for the team and is someone that is only improving each year. Juventus’ interest suggests that he has the quality to compete at the top level in European football and Liverpool must ensure that is with them. Can has been used occasionally in defence due to his versatility, but his best position is in the centre of the park where he can break up play. He added goals to his game last season and will be a real player if he can continue that streak in the future.
In other Liverpool transfer news, they have been offered a 30-year-old international in a potential swap deal.
