Evan Ferguson to Nottingham Forest: O’Rourke shares update today

Nottingham Forest are monitoring Brighton striker Evan Ferguson as a potential option to bolster their attacking options, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that bringing in a forward is a “key priority” for Nuno Espirito Santo.

Forest are currently flying high in the Premier League table and sit seventh after the opening 14 games of the season, having won six of them.

Santo’s men have scored 16 goals this season, with Chris Wood providing nine of those in what has been an impressive individual season.

However, Forest have scored fewer goals than all of the other teams in the top half of the table which is why Santo wants to bring in another forward.

Football Insider previously revealed that Ferguson wants to quit Brighton in January as he’s searching for more game time.

Nottingham Forest might struggle to sign Evan Ferguson

Forest needs more help in front of goal if they want to continue challenging for a European place, and Ferguson is being seen as an ideal option by those in the club.

However, it is open to debate as to whether or not the Seagulls would be willing to sell Ferguson to Forest as they are both challenging for European football.

Brighton currently sit fifth in the Premier League, with just a single point separating the two teams.

Forest will also face competition in trying to sign Ferguson as Football Insider confirmed that Leicester, Fulham, and West Ham have all been linked with a move for him.

Ferguson has made nine appearances in the Premier League this season, but he has only started one of them.
