Gerard Deulofeu has revealed that he is committed to AC Milan and wants to continue playing there as it’s made him a better player.
The 23-year-old has been a hit at the San Siro since he secured a loan switch there in January after failing to force his way into Ronald Koeman’s plans at Everton.
In 10 appearances for the Rossoneri, Deulofeu has scored one goal and assisted three as he looks to earn prove his talent away from Goodison Park.
Unfortunately for Everton fans though, the ex-Barcelona academy whizz has enjoyed life so much in Milan that he wants to stay there, as he thinks it enhances his chance of playing for Spain.
Deulofeu has recently been called up to the Spain squad and has a chance of earning just his second cap since making his debut almost three years ago.
Spain’s upcoming fixtures are against Israel in a 2018 World Cup qualifier and France in an international friendly in Paris.
“Right now I’m only thinking about Milan and the Spanish national team,” said Deulofeu, as quoted by Marca. “I’m very happy here in Milan and hope to continue here.
“They gave me a lot of confidence when I arrived.
“I’m a more intelligent and consistent player that is now preparing matches much better beyond training.”
Deulofeu made 75 appearances for Everton since he joined the club in 2013 on a loan deal which later turned into a permanent one.
He earned a staggering 32 caps and scored 16 goals for the Spanish Under-21 side but he is now hoping that he can have the same impact on the senior side.
In other Everton news, a reported target has sealed a £1.1million summer transfer.
