Everton and Aston Villa agree another deal after medical passed – sources

Everton winger Lewis Dobbin has completed his medical ahead of a move to Aston Villa, sources have told Football Insider.

The 21-year-old has reached a full agreement with Villa and the deal will be completed next week as he prepares to leave Goodison Park.

The West Midlands giants are expected to make the announcement soon as Unai Emery looks to strengthen his attacking options for next season.

Dobbin is set to leave Everton after starting just one Premier League game for the club throughout the entirety of last season.

Lewis Dobbin set for Aston Villa move after Everton PSR concerns

Dobbin has spent the past 10 years on Merseyside after joining the club’s academy in 2014 before going on to earn a professional contract.

The Stoke-born winger signed on loan for Derby County in the 2022-23 season, where he scored five goals and laid on six assists in 54 appearances.

The former England youth international has played 20 senior games for Everton, 15 of which came last season, and he registered his only goal for the club in the 2-0 victory over Chelsea last December.

But Dobbin has now agreed a deal to join Villa this summer as the Merseyside giants look to raise some cash to help their profit and sustainability (PSR) situation.

Aston Villa

It isn’t the only deal the Premier League duo have been working on together over the past week after midfielder Tim Iroegbunam completed his move to Goodison.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 18 June Everton had a bid accepted for the 20-year-old and then first broke the news on 20 June that Iroegbunam was headed to Merseyside to undergo a medical.

The two deals are expected to help both top-flight clubs with their PSR situations as they are believed to be close to their allowable losses limit.
