Everton have tabled a bid for Blackburn Rovers’ highly-rated teenager Callum Wright, according to a report.
The Liverpool Echo have revealed that the Toffees offered a huge fee of £1million for the 17-year-old midfielder – despite having let him leave four years ago.
Everton are not alone in their interest for the teen sensation, and they also face a fight for the player’s signature with Tottenham, Stoke City and Leicester City.
The youngster has been a revelation at youth level where he plays mainly in the centre of the park, but can also be used on the right of mid or as a right-back.
Football Insider verdict:
There is certainly a lot of interest in this Blackburn youth player and now that Everton are missing a key figure, after Anton Donker returned to Wolfsburg due to his loan move ending, the Toffees need to boost their options. At just 17-years-old, it is unlikely that he will want to venture far from his roots and after previously playing for the Toffees in the academy, he knows the place well and it would not be a major move for him on a personal level.
