Everton close in on another signing after Iliman Ndiaye ‘agreement’ – sources

Everton are in advanced talks to sign Marseille striker Iliman Ndiaye for a fee of nearly £20million following overnight developments, sources have told Football Insider.

The Toffees turned their attention to the 24-year-old after talks for Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh stalled.

Ndiaye is very keen to make a move to Everton and has given his camp the green light to agree to a deal, with Marseille wanting to recoup the £20million they paid to sign him from Sheffield United last year.

His current contract with the French outfit expires in 2028 but, with the club willing to let him go, this is a transfer that could quickly progress in the next hours.

Ndiaye is on stand-by to undergo an Everton medical as the two clubs finalise talks.

Ndiaye scored four goals while creating five assists last season for Marseille in 46 appearances.

Iliman Ndiaye does bring English experience

While the Senegal international has spent last season in Ligue 1, he does bring experience playing in England with him after spending four years with the Blades.

Ndiaye made his debut for Sheffield United in the Premier League, but spent most of his time playing for the club in the Championship.

The striker played 76 times in England’s second tier, scoring 21 goals while creating 13 assists.

A forward might be an area that the Toffees need to invest in this summer as Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be on his way out of Goodison Park.

The popular talisman has been in talks with Newcastle United, and Football Insider revealed that he has been given a price tag of £25million.
