Theo Walcott could be about to swap the red and white of Arsenal for the blue of Everton as reports are merging that the Merseysiders are close to confirming a £20million transfer for the attacker.
The BBC state that despite interest from Southampton, the Toffees are the attacker’s preferred destination and the forward sees Sam Allardyce as the man to help reignite his career which has nosedived.
Walcott is out of contract at the Emirates next summer has been the subject of speculation, after failing to hold down a first-team place in north London.
Walcott joined Arsenal in 2006 and despite being labelled as a superstar in the making, his career has never really taken off with the Gunners, and this season he has been limited to cup appearances.
Now, according to Charles Watts, a prominent journalist for Football.London, Walcott is scheduled to take his medical on Tuesday afternoon.

Football Insider verdict:
This would be a real coup for Allardyce if Everton can pull off the signing of Walcott. The 28-year-old is keen to hold down a regular first-team place and knows that at his age it is most probably his last chance to make a name for himself and prove his worth. Let’s also not forget that this is a World Cup year and as it stands he is about as far from Gareth Southgate’s plans as you can imagine while he sits on the sidelines for Arsenal. At Everton, he has a chance to show the England manager he still has a lot to offer. The Gunners winger also knows how to find the back of the net and he will be given plenty of opportunities to do that with an attack of Cenk Tosun, Yannick Bolasie and Wayne Rooney.
In other Arsenal transfer news, it has been reported that the Gunners are offering one of their strikers as makeweight to secure this European ace.
