Everton make emphatic decision on striker January future after talks - report

Everton defender and Switzerland international Shani Tarashaj is set to remain at Goodison Park this transfer window, according to a report.
The Liverpool Echo state that despite there having been suggestions of a move away from the Toffees and a number of discussions regarding the possibility of a loan deal, the 22-year-old will now stay put, following talks.
Tarashaj, 22, was signed from Swiss side Grasshoppers in January 2016 and was loaned out to German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt in August.
However, a number of illnesses and injuries delayed his progression in the Bundesliga, including a knee problem which required an operation, and a return to the Toffees.
Football Insider verdict:
Tarashaj has never made a first team appearance for the Toffees and does not look close to making one either so it seems a strange decision to keep the Swiss international at Goodison Park if he is ready to play again – unless Sam Allardyce is planning on using the player. Given that the former England manager is under a great deal of pressure to turn results around, amidst the Toffees poor run of form – including three defeats in five, without a single win, Tarashaj making an appearance looks a long shot. Allardyce has added Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun to his attack which would seemingly push the young Swiss forward further still down the pecking order, making this decision all the more bewildering. Surely he could gain a lot more if the Toffees allowed the 22-year-old to go on loan.
