Everton are likely to axe the experienced Kevin Mirallas from their side for Saturday’s Goodison Park clash against Bournemouth.
The 29-year-old Belgium international started in the attacking midfield position in the midweek 1-1 draw against Stoke, but he was less than impressive and brought off the field with 70 minutes on the clock.
Is is expected that he will then be replaced by combative midfielder Idrissa Gueye, who will be available again after Senegal were knocked out of the AFCON’s.
This will then likely see Ross Barkley pushed up into the attacking midfield position in the side’s only change.
Joel Robles is expected to keep his place between the sticks after winning the goalkeeper spot from Maarten Stekelenburg earlier in the campaign.
He will look to be protected from an unchanged back three of Mason Holgate, Ashley Williams and Ramiro Funes Mori with wing-backs Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines bombing up and down the flanks.
The centre of the park for the Toffees looks notably strong with Morgan Schneiderlin and Gueye helping to shield the defence alongside emerging talent Tom Davies.
They will then provide more attacking freedom for Barkley and star forward Romelu Lukaku, who will be looking to add to his 13 goal tally against the Cherries.
It is a match that Everton will be very eager to pick up all three points in after disappointment in midweek and they will see a clash against 14th placed Bournemouth at home as winnable.
In other Everton news, the Toffees reportedly lost out on this player to Premier League rivals on deadline-day.
