Everton fans have vented their anger on social media at the FA decision to uphold Oumar Niasse’s two game suspension for deceiving a match official.
The striker won a penalty in the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday, when the referee deemed Scott Dann to have fouled the striker in the box.
The penalty was awarded in the sixth minute of the game, when Everton were losing 1-0 thanks to a James McArthur goal, Leighton Baines converted the penalty to make the scores level.
Dann publicly accused the Toffees striker as diving to win the penalty, and a three man panel put together by the FA agreed with the Crystal Palace defender.
The 27-year-old is the first Premier League player to be suspended, under the new FA laws introduced in May, which said diving could be retrospectively punished.
Niasse grabbed a goal in the game against Crystal Palace but David Unsworth will now be unable to select him for the next league games against West Ham and Southampton.
Everton have struggled for goals this season, following the departure of Romelu Lukaku, scoring only 12 goals in 12 league games.
The lack of goals has contributed to the Toffees’ poor league position of 16th, with them only three points clear of relegation.
Everton fans did not hold back when criticising the FA, here are some of the best reactions:
@FA your a disgrace to football let's see how many players get banned for no contact fouls as opposed to Oumar Niasse being banned for a clear contact foul
You need to get your shop in order as you seem to be more cheating than some players are.

Well done the FA for confirming what (pretty much) everyone thinks of them. Compared to other incidents which have remarkably gone unpunished, that ban for Niasse is utterly ludicrous, completely unjust and totally inexplicable. Fools.

Niasse gunna be a big loss for us, he's the main reason we've picked up 4 points in the last 2 games and not currently in the bottom 3. #efc

Joke that decision on the whole Niasse thing, big named players been doing it for years and all season.

Can't understand why Niasse has got a two game ban for diving. Yes it was a dive but how come oumar is the first player to be banned for it. Just proves how corrupt the @FA and @premierleague are. Would never happen to one of the "stars" in a top four side.

it was always an unwritten rule for top 4 sides to cheat the ref, Gerrard said it in his autobiography about clattenburg
said he could be got at, that's why they used to surround refs. Now we are under the microscope even when Niasse got body checked

So Niasse banned.🙈Gloves are off now. Looking forward to EFC fans everywhere making sure the next 'dives' are thoroughly acknowledged by media. Tweets to prominent figures, phone in calls, comments pages, anything to make your voice known. Trial by media? Lets make it the news.
