Everton fans react on Twitter to reported swoop for 22-year-old sensation
By Will Butcher
Everton have reportedly opened talks over a sensational move to sign Julian Draxler – and the club’s fans are in disbelief.
The Germany international starred for his country at Euro 2016, playing in all five games as they reached the semi-finals in France.
The Independent claim Ronald Koeman’s side have made the first move to land the 22-year-old, who declared on Wednesday that he wants to leave Wolfsburg.
The midfielder has a £63million release clause in his contract and the Bundesliga outfit will only allow him to leave for that figure.
The former Schalke playmaker has also been one of Arsenal’s main summer targets, with Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist and transfer expert Emanuele Giulianelli reporting on his Twitter account that Draxler could make the move to North London.

Draxler, who plays predominantly on the left wing but can also slot in on the right flank and in the central playmaking role, made his name at Schalke with 30 goals in 170 matches before joining Wolfsburg, where he has added eight in 31 games.
The versatile attacker has also earned 24 Germany caps, scoring two goals for the Euro 2016 semi-finalists.
