'Absolute myth', 'Move him on' - Everton fans react to rarely-seen international v Southampton

Everton midfielder Nikola Vlasic was handed a rare opportunity to show Blues supporters what he is capable of against Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday evening, but unfortunately for the 20-year-old, he was unable to take advantage of his outing.

Nathan Redmond gave the Saints the lead but Tom Davies struck deep into stoppage time to hand Sam Allardyce’s side a share of the spoils at Goodison Park.

Vlasic, a two-time Croatian international, signed for the Blues last summer from Hadjuk Split after starring for the Croatian outfit against the Toffees in the Europa League.

However, at 20-years-old, the youngster has found his first season at Goodison Park hard-going and this performance seems to be a carbon-copy of the previous 11 gone before in the Premier League, where he is yet to either score or make a goal.

There was a distinct lack of support fired the way of the Croat on Twitter throughout the game, who was taking a lot of stick from fans on the social media platform.

Whether it was fair criticism or not, Vlasic was labelled a “myth” by one fan, while another demanded that the forward player be sold in the transfer window this summer.
