Everton fans react on Twitter to shattering Bolasie blow

Yannick Bolasie is set to miss the rest of Everton’s 2016-17 campaign after suffering a serious knee injury against Manchester United – and fans are devastated on Twitter.
The Merseyside club revealed on their official Twitter account on Monday night that the wide man will undergo knee surgery after overstretching for a loose ball during Sunday’s 1-1 draw.
The former Crystal Palace is now facing the prospect of nine to 12 months on the sidelines, which is the normal timeframe for a player who has torn an anterior cruciate ligament.

The 27-year-old ace is in line to miss the African Cup of Nations for Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as the rest of the Toffees’ domestic campaign.
Bolasie’s spell on the sidelines will come as a huge blow to manager Ronald Koeman, who signed the former Bristol City star for a fee rising to £28million from Crystal Palace in the summer.

Without Bolasie, Everton are left with the likes of Kevin Mirallas, Aaron Lennon and Gerard Deulofeu on the flanks.
Everton fans are saddened on Twitter after learning of the news, with many claiming that their new number 14 had been their most creative player under Koeman.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Bolasie injury big blow- most effective #EFC winger so far this season. Has to be a change in system now. 4-4-2 diamond anyone?

We need to replace Bolasie now. There's zero threat in that #EFC team

Well that's #EFC screwed without Bolasie. He may have been inconsistent but he does offer something. Time for Deulofeu to step up.

terrible news! If I was Del Boy or Barkley I'd be thinking it's time to step up and prove my worth.

With Bolasie most likely out for the season, it's time for Deulofeu and Mirallas to step up and show their class. #EFC

In his 15 league and cup appearances for the Merseyside giants, Bolasie has provided four assists as well as scoring once during the 2-1 loss to Premier League new boys Burnley.
Everton will now look to deal without Bolasie on the weekend, as they face Watford in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off in front of the television cameras.
