‘Everton, Leeds and Bournemouth eye Tim Weah swoop after Nottingham Forest snub’
Bournemouth, Everton, and Leeds United are alert to the chance to sign Juventus talent Timothy Weah following a new Nottingham Forest transfer twist.
The 25-year-old USA international was on the verge of making a surprise move to the City Ground this week before his agent confirmed that the player turned down a move to fight for a spot in the squad.
Despite this, a trio of Premier League sides have joined the race to sign the versatile talent, who is capable of playing anywhere from right-back to either wing, and even as a lone striker.
He notched six goals and four assists in 43 appearances for the Old Lady last season, with a number of clubs across Europe now paying attention to the player’s talents ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
While the Cherries and the Toffees will be looking to climb up the Premier League table, Daniel Farke‘s biggest target for next season will be remaining in the division, and Weah could certainly help.
Nottingham Forest spark transfer race for Timothy Weah
According to The Guardian’s Ed Aarons’, via X (27 June), Bournemouth, Everton and Leeds have all joined the race to sign Juventus star Weah after turning down the opportunity to join Forest.
The USA forward was left out of Juventus’ squad for the 5-2 defeat to Man City after having agreed to sell him and Samuel Mbangula to Evangelos Marinakis‘ side, but a fresh twist has emerged.
Everton, Bournemouth and Leeds United to battle for new talent
Football Insider verdict
All three teams would see Weah walk straight into their lineup, but all for very different reasons based on the player’s ability to feature anywhere on the pitch.
The right-back position has been an issue for David Moyes, with Seamus Coleman’s injuries leaving Jake O’Brien to deputise out of position, and the American international would help plug that gap.
On the other hand, Football Insider understands that Bournemouth already have plans in place if Tottenham sign Antoine Semenyo on a £70million deal this summer.

While Weah has been playing at right-back much more recently, the 25-year-old could be signed as a new right-winger, with Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, and Illia Zabarnyi all exit-linked.
And in Leeds’ case, despite winning promotion back to the Premier League and winning the Championship title on goal difference, no one player stood out for their number of goals.
Joel Piroe, who may not be at Elland Road next season, Football Insider understands, finished the season on 19 goals, followed by Dan James on 12 and Manor Solomon on 10.
All three clubs have reason to strike a deal with Juventus for Weah. However, it remains to be seen if the player wants a move away from the Allianz Stadium.
