Everton make emphatic transfer decision over 23-year-old - report
By Matt Farr
Everton have slapped a world-record £100million price tag on the head of star goalscorer Romelu Lukaku, according to a report.
The Liverpool Echo claim that the Merseyside club have made the emphatic decision to increase their demands for their wantaway star to £100million, in a bid to stave off interest from their rivals.
It is further reported that Lukaku’s recent goalscoring form has seen Everton slap a further £30million on top of his previous reported £70million valuation.
The Belgian international has scored 25 goals from 34 appearances in all competitions this term, and currently leads the race to win the Premier League golden boot.
Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United have both reportedly shown considerable interest in signing the 23-year-old this summer, with Everton understood to have rejected a £70million offer from the Blues.

But Everton are standing firm in their bid to retain the services of their most prized asset, despite Lukaku rejecting the offer of a new contract at Goodison Park, and are reluctant to consider offers below their record valuation.
Lukaku has declared his intention to quit Everton this summer in pursuit of Champions League football, which the club are unlikely to offer next season as they trail the top four by seven points.
Football Insider verdict
Everton don’t want to lose Lukaku, it’s as simple as that. Lukaku is understood to want Champions League football, and that is the logical next step for him as a player, but Everton aren’t going to let him go without a fight. Everton share Lukaku’s ambition, but they look as though they will miss the cut this season as they fall even further behind the Premier League’s top four; and that could see him quit the club. But the reported £100million valuation will be a major stumbling block for Lukaku. He’s been a fantastic player this season, but there will be few clubs out there willing to match a world record fee to sign him. Realistically, Everton will be looking back within the £60million mark for Lukaku, and that is what they will likely be offered this summer.
In other Everton transfer news, this senior player has been lined up for a shock La Liga transfer (not Deulofeu).
