Everton making Wilfred Ndidi move after offer rejected – sources

Everton are readying a move for Wilfred Ndidi when he becomes a free agent later this month, sources have told Football Insider.

Ndidi’s contract with Leicester City expires on the 30th June, and he has rejected a new contract, meaning the Nigeria international will be available to join a new club from next week.

The 27-year-old has been with the Foxes since 2017, but a new challenge appears to be on the horizon.

Having made 274 appearances for Leicester in all competitions, Ndidi has been a crucial part of the club’s success. That included their recent promotion campaign from the Championship, during which where he featured 32 times, and scored four goals.

Wilfred Ndidi brings Premier League experience with him

Ndidi is a vastly experienced player in the Premier League, having played 192 times in the English top flight. Throughout those appearances, he’s contributed seven goals and nine assists.

However, it’s his work rate and defensive attitude that makes him a valuable asset to a team, which is why he’s typically deployed as a defensive midfielder.

Ndidi could be lining up with another new face in the Everton squad next season, as the club recently brought in Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa on a three-year deal.

Everton Newcastle United

Everton might be strengthening this summer, but the club could also be losing two crucial players within this window as Dominic Calvert-Lewin in talks with Newcastle United about a switch to St James’ Park.

Meanwhile, the Toffees will have to fight to keep Jarrad Branthwaite as Chelsea could join Manchester United in the bid to sign him.

In other news, Everton are interested in signing a Leeds United player.
