Everton move to sign Jack Harrison permanently from Leeds now in doubt – sources
Everton’s bid to sign Leeds United ace Jack Harrison is in major doubt as new development revealed today
Everton are keen to sign Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison permanently but a permanent deal is not close, sources have told Football Insider.
The forward has become a key man at Goodison Park since his move from Elland Road last summer.
However, it is believed that all of the Toffees’ transfer business has been put on hold amid continued uncertainty regarding relegation and their pending takeover.
Harrison was very keen to remain in the Premier League after his parent club were relegated last season, but a decision from Everton as to whether they can retain him won’t come for some time.
Despite their admirable form in recent months, Everton are well and truly in the relegation battle following their 10-point deduction.
They are in the process of appealing their sanction, but sources have told Football Insider (9 February) that they are not likely to receive good news when the results of their appeal for Financial Fair Play breaches are announced.
Doubts remain over the club’s takeover by 777 Partners, who are still waiting for approval from the Premier League to buy Farhad Moshiri’s majority stake.
Harrison has impressed at Everton having notched four goals and three assists across 24 games in all competitions.
He netted the opening goal in the most recent Premier League outing – their 2-2 draw against Tottenham at Goodison Park on Saturday (3 February).

Everton sit 18th in the Premier League table after their draw against Tottenham, while Leeds sit third in the Championship and are well-positioned for promotion.
The Toffees are next set to face Man City at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon (10 February), while the Whites welcome Rotherham United to Elland Road.
