Everton news: Pundit names two potential destinations for Nathan Patterson after journalist’s reveal

Frank McAvennie has claimed Nathan Patterson could be heading for Scottish side Aberdeen or Dundee United if he leaves Everton on loan next season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Celtic and West Ham striker said the 20-year-old is too inexperienced to be a regular starter for the Toffees.

According to The Sun‘s Alan Nixon (23 July), Frank Lampard wants the defender to go out on loan in order to play more games.

The Everton manager said he can’t promise Patterson regular game time at the Merseyside club.

The right-back joined Lampard’s side from Rangers in January for £16million.

He put pen to paper on a five-year deal at Goodison Park.

When asked where he thought the Scotland international could go, McAvennie told Football Insider: “Not back to Rangers because he won’t get a game.

Listen, it doesn’t matter where he goes it’s just game time for him.

He’ll be the full-back for Everton he’s just maybe too young and inexperienced. Maybe the money is turning his head but I hope not.

A Championship club would be good for him because that’s a great standard.

Or sign for one of the clubs in Scotland like Aberdeen or Dundee United, somewhere like that where he’s going to play week in week out. Play against Celtic and Rangers and get his experience week in week out.

It’s either there or the Championship I would say for him.

In other news, a pundit has backed Everton to sign at least one Chelsea star after journalist’s Billy Gilmour update.
