Everton plot two key signings after new twist – sources

Everton still want to add a new wide player and replacement for Amadou Onana in the remainder of the transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The Toffees are plotting at least two more signings despite the recent collapse of their Friedkin Group takeover.

In a new twist following the breakdown, Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (23 July) that Everton are now set to prioritise loan signings.

Midfielder Onana has joined Aston Villa in a deal worth a reported £50million, but it is believed Sean Dyche and Everton transfer chiefs are unlikely to be given much of the proceeds to do business of their own.

The takeover situation raises serious questions about the club’s transfer business – but they are nevertheless keen to add a new central midfielder and winger at least.

Premier League survival will be important to the club’s long-term future ahead of their move into the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium next year.

Permanent deals for Iliman Ndiaye and Tim Iroegbunam have already been finalised, while Jack Harrison has re-joined on loan from Leeds United.
