Everton are set for big changes this summer. Sam Allardyce has been sacked and Steve Walsh is expected to follow with it being reported that PSV technical director Marcel Brands is due to be hired at Goodison Park.

Sky Sports reporter Alan Myers claimed on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that just the finishing touches are left to be added to the deal that will bring the 56-year-old Dutchman to Merseyside, which is set to be completed in the coming weeks.

Brands has been in the hierarchy at PSV for eight years and boasts a wealth of experience from one of Europe’s most prestigious clubs.

With him looking certain to move to Goodison to take over from Walsh as director of football, it would be natural to assume that he may have a look at some players in Eindhoven that he could bring with him.

One player that the 56-year-old must hope comes with him is right-back Santiago Arias, who would be a brilliant addition at right-back in the summer transfer window.

Arias, 26, is known for his attacking wing-back play having scored three goals and supplied six assists in 30 Eredivisie appearances this term as PSV lifted the Dutch title with relative ease.

The Colombia international is someone who has previously been on Everton’s radar with the Daily Star reporting last year that the Merseysiders were interested in signing him.

However with Brand in the Goodison Park hierarchy, there’s a chance that the Toffees could snap up the speed machine, who according to Sky Sports Italy reporter Gianluca di Marzio is set for talks with Juventus next week.

Everton need a new right-back with Seamus Coleman not playing anywhere near the level he used to and Arias would be a very handy addition for the 2018/19 campaign.
