New Everton manager Marco Silva is set to wield the axe once more by sensationally sanctioning the exit of four of his first-team players, according to a report.
The Daily Star has announced that following the departure of Ramiro Funes Mori to Villarreal just last week, the Portuguese boss is set to allow Yannick Bolasie, Wayne Rooney, Ashley Williams, and Morgan Schneiderlin to leave.
It has been a quiet transfer window so far at Goodison Park in comparison to recent years with the club yet to make their first signing of the summer.
But it is looking as though departures will have to happen before any new names are snapped up.
Football Insider verdict:
We cannot see many Everton fans being disappointed to hear the news that the quadruplet of players may be on their way out of Goodison. All four had disappointing campaigns as the side struggled first under Ronald Koeman and failed to excite the masses upon Sam Allardyce’s appointment at the club. Should the four first-team stars leave, then it will be a huge signal of intent of the direction the Blues are set to take. Both Silva and director of football Marcel Brands have spoken openly about their desire to promote from within and by ridding the club of some of its more senior members, it’s a sign that they are ready to go in a new direction. These players are deadwood and offer very little to the side. We think Silva is making the right move here no matter what risk it may appear in binning such a wealth of experience.
In the latest Everton news, Silva must ramp up reported Everton interest in playmaker, £25m could be bargain fee.
