Everton set to reignite move for playmaker after failed £28m approach - report
By Dominic Toner
Everton have placed Swansea playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson on their summer wishlist, according to a report.
The Liverpool Echo claim that the Toffees are interested in a summer move for the 27-year-old attacking midfielder.
It is understood that Ronald Koeman is a huge admirer of the Swansea ace and saw a £28million approach rebuffed last summer.
The report details that Everton were aware a January deal was not possible, but have put him on their target for the summer transfer window.
Sigurdsson has been an influential player for the Swans since his arrival in 2014 from Tottenham and helped them maintain their Premier League status.

The Iceland international has made 31 appearances this season across all competitions, scoring nine goals and supplying 11 assists.
Football Insider verdict:
Everton want to breakthrough into the top six of the league next season and Sigurdsson would be a great addition to help achieve that. The 27-year-old has proved himself to be one of the most creative players in the top-flight in recent seasons and has the ability to play in any Premier League team. The Toffees need to ensure they keep the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley at Goodison Park in the summer, but it’s equally important they add top-class players to improve the starting line-up. Sigurdsson would be able to be a major goal threat for the Merseyside club and Koeman is keen on the playmaker. Everton would be a next good step up in his career and the two could be a perfect match.
