Ex-striker shares 'huge' reaction as Everton offer job to Nuno amid Tuesday twist
Frank McAvennie has no idea who Everton are going to target now Nuno Espirito Santo is reportedly close to joining Crystal Palace.
The former West Ham striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists Nuno would have made a good Toffees boss.
On Tuesday, The Telegraph reported Nuno is on the verge of becoming the new Crystal Palace boss despite being offered the Everton job.
As revealed by Football Insider on Monday, the Merseyside club interviewed the former Wolves boss over the weekend about becoming their new manager but the size of his backroom staff emerged as a stumbling block.
The Blues are trying to replace Carlo Ancelotti after he sensationally quit to join Real Madrid last week.
McAvennie claims Everton fans would love to watch their side if Nuno was in charge.

“It would have been a good appointment,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It’s a massive club to come into. Everton is huge. He did very well at Wolves.
“He’s got something about him, something different. Wolves were very good on the eye.
“Everton fans would love to have a team that plays like that. They were really poor at times under Ancelotti.
“I don’t know how it’s going to go now but it will be interesting to see.”
Nuno surprisingly left Wolves at the end of the season after a successful four-year spell.
He led Wolves to back-to-back seventh-placed finishes during the club’s first two seasons back in the Premier League.
