'Excellent' - Exclusive: McNamara wowed by Celtic player who started v Hibernian
Jackie McNamara heaped praise on Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster and revealed what had triggered the player’s turnaround.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former Parkhead hero shared that he thought Neil Lennon had restored the shot-stopper’s confidence.
Forster was struggling for game time at Southampton before joining the Hoops on loan and has consistently featured for the Scottish giant.
McNamara acknowledged that the 31-year-old had been excellent for the Hoops and had benefited from fans supporting him.
When asked if Forster is playing well due to Lennon restoring his confidence, McNamara told Football Insider: “I think between that and the fans at the club, yeah.
“It’s a good environment for him, he’s been excellent in the league games and European matches.

“He’s been generally great, he enjoyed his time when he was on loan before from Newcastle before we signed him, so it’s generally a good place for him.”
Forster played his 21st match of the season in the 2-0 win over Hibernian on Sunday, keeping his 10th clean sheet of the campaign in the process.
The veteran keeper, who has six caps for England, is scheduled to return to the Saints at the end of the season when his loan deal with Celtic ends.
Forster has plenty of time left to run on his Southampton contract with it not expiring until 2022.
The keeper has made a grand total of 218 appearances for the Hoops in his career so far and has won the league three times with the club.
