Arsenal attacking midfielder Jack Wilshere is the most likely player to join Newcastle United in the January transfer window, according to Football Whispers.
Wilshere has struggled with injures during his time at Arsenal and has been linked with a move away from the club for a while now.
The England international spent last season on loan at Premier League rivals Bournemouth and may want to leave the club in January with his chances of first-team football limited at the Emirates Stadium.
Wilshere was listed at number eight on the top whispers list by Football Whispers, who calculate the probability of a transfer happening by rating all the stories from across the globe.
In the list they rate Wilshere’s move to Newcastle at 3.6, just below Ross Barkley’s move to Tottenham, with a rating of 5 signifying almost a done deal.
Football Insider verdict:
Jack Wilshere would be an excellent signing for Newcastle United and a welcome addition to the club’s midfield. His creativity and his range of passing could really add something to the team. The 25-year-old has only made four Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season and is yet to start a league game. His chances of first-team football have come in the Europa League and the EFL Cup. Wilshere has previously expressed his desire to remain at the Emirates Stadium, but could favour a move away in order to force himself into England manager Gareth Southgate’s plans for the World Cup in Russia next summer.
In other Newcastle United news, the club have been linked with a move for this World Cup winner in January.
