Rangers’ owners are well placed to agree new commercial deals following their takeover at Ibrox, sources have told Football Insider.
The Scottish giants announced on Friday (30 May) the US consortium has now completed its takeover after receiving the approval of the Scottish FA.
It has also been confirmed they have committed to invest an initial £20million into the club.
The ownership group is spearheaded by health insurance tycoon Andrew Cavenagh and Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe, who is the president of 49ers Enterprises – the investment arm of NFL franchise the San Francisco 49ers.
There are various high-profile figures invested in 49ers Enterprises, including actors Will Ferrell and Russell Crowe as well as American golfing stars Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.
Sources say Rangers’ owners will use their network of contacts to land new commercial deals in a bid to strengthen the financial situation at Ibrox.
Rangers posted a record-breaking revenue in 2023-24 after their turnover increased from £83.8million in 2022-23 to £88.3million.
The club’s commercial income improved slightly from £19.2million to £20.5million across the same period.

The energy drink giant has a minority stake in 49ers-owned Leeds and is the front-of-shirt sponsor at Elland Road.
Rangers’ current deal with Kindred, owner of the 32Red and Unibet brands, is worth up to £3million a year.
Ibrox chiefs have already leaned into the Red Bull link after appointing Kevin Thelwell, formerly of the New York Red Bulls, as their new sporting director.

Rangers transfer plan revealed after confirmed news
Football Insider revealed on 2 June Rangers’ owners are expected to make big transfer funds available to their new head coach this summer.
Russell Martin and Davide Ancelotti are among the frontrunners to land the job after Barry Ferguson, who took on the role on an interim basis following Philippe Clement’s sacking in February, left the club last month.
Big changes are expected at Ibrox in the coming weeks as the ownership group looks to put Rangers in a position to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
The Gers finished 17 points behind their Old Firm rivals in the latest campaign.
