Exclusive: Aston Villa defender agrees permanent exit
EXCLUSIVE By Pete O’Rourke
Aston Villa defender Jacob Bedeau is set to leave the club to join Scunthorpe, Football Insider understands.
Villa beat a host of clubs to Bedeau’s signature in January 2017 when they landed him from Bury in a deal close to £1million.
The centre-back was regarded as one for the future by Villa, but he has been unable to break into the first-team picture at Villa Park during his two years at the club.
Bedeau is out of contract at Villa this summer and a source close to the club has told Football Insider that they have decided to cash-in on him rather than allow him to run down his deal.
A number of Football League clubs have expressed an interest in signing Bedeau this month, but the source explained Scunthorpe have moved quickly to agree a deal with Villa for the teenager.
Bedeau is expected to sign a three-year deal at Scunthorpe and he could go straight into the squad for this weekend’s clash against Barnsley.
