Aston Villa are ready to offer Jhon Duran a bumper new contract, sources have told Football Insider.

His current deal is believed to be worth £30,000-a-week, which puts him in the bottom bracket of senior Villa players.

The 20-year-old has made an astonishing start to the season, scoring six goals in 10 matches across all competitions.

Three of his goals have been match-winners, including his sensational strike that led Villa to defeat Bayern Munich 1-0 in the Champions League.

Duran’s performances have caught the eye of Real Madrid, with Football Insider revealing the Spanish giants have a “concrete” interest in the Colombia international.

The striker joined Villa in January 2023 from Chicago Fire and signed until 2028.

His new contract offer is set to include a huge pay hike, sources say, that will elevate him towards the higher earners in the first-team squad.

The striker has won over Emery and his coaching staff due to his performances, and now the club are looking to reward him with a new deal.

Duran had agreed personal terms with West Ham during the summer transfer window, but the Irons were unwilling to meet Villa’s £35million asking price as Football Insider reported.

Duran has since committed to Villa and has made a huge impact albeit while struggling to make the starting XI.
