Darren Bent has identified loanee Jack Harrison as one Leeds United player who has what it takes to be a Premier League star.

The former Aston Villa and England striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, insists the winger has proven himself in the Championship and is ready to play in the top flight.

As revealed exclusively by Football Insider, Marcelo Bielsa has set his sights on making the 23-year-old his first signing in the summer window if the Whites are promoted.

Harrison has spent both the 2018/19 and the 2019/20 seasons on loan at Elland Road from Manchester City, establishing himself as a mainstay in the first-team setup.

Bent believes that improvements are needed if the Whites are to be promoted but that Harrison is one they can rely on to be a success.

Asked which Leeds players he thought were ready for the Premier League, Bent told Football Insider: “I think Jack Harrison will be fine, I think he’ll be good.

“I think Harrison’s done quite well this season.

“You always need improvements, even teams that are regulars in the Premier League have to improve, you have to. Leeds are ready to go up, they’re looking to go up but of course, they’re going to have to strengthen.”

Harrison already has 82 appearances under his belt for Leeds, with 40 of those coming this season.

He has scored five goals and chipped in with seven assists to help Bielsa’s men top the table with nine games left to play.

In other Leeds United news, Noel Whelan suggests that a first-team favourite could quit Elland Road this summer.
