Exclusive: Borussia Dortmund planning to re-sign Jadon Sancho
Borussia Dortmund are keen to re-sign winger Jadon Sancho for a third time, sources have told Football Insider.
Sancho is currently on loan at Aston Villa from Manchester United but has yet to start a Premier League game for Unai Emery’s side this season.
The 25-year-old sees his contract at Old Trafford expire next summer and Man United are not expected to trigger the one-year extension clause in his current deal.
Sources say that Borussia Dortmund are interested in Sancho if he becomes available on a free transfer, but will not pay a fee for him.

Sancho came through the Manchester City academy before completing a move to Dortmund in the summer of 2017.
The England international flourished into one of the most exciting wingers in the world during his four years at the German club.
At the end of the 2021-22 campaign, Sancho made the switch to Man United for a fee of around £73million, but failed to deliver during his time at Old Trafford.
In January 2024, the 25-year-old returned to Dortmund on loan, recovering some form and even starting in the club’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
Now, Sancho could be in line for a third spell with the Bundesliga outfit, as he attempts to get back to his best once again.
Man United eyeing talented winger
With Sancho’s future in doubt, Man United are keeping tabs on Bundesliga sensation Said El Mala, sources have told Football Insider.
FC Koln winger El Mala has been a breakout star this season with four goals and two assists in nine Bundesliga appearances.
The skilful attacker’s performances have brought him onto the radar of Europe’s top clubs, with Premier League trio Liverpool, Man United and Chelsea big admirers of the 19-year-old.
El Mala is a German international at under-21 level and has been tipped for big things in the future by coaches at Koln.
